    Community Unitarian Universalist Church (CUUC) in Plano, Texas is a welcoming congregation affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association. We are committed to spiritual growth, social justice, and community connection. Our congregation partners with Texas Unitarian Universalist Justice Ministries (TXUUJM) and other organizations on issues such as protecting democracy, reproductive justice, and LGBTQ+ rights.

    We are seeking a Faith and Justice Coordinator to help integrate our educational programs with social justice organizing and to deepen the connection between faith and action. This position reports directly to the minister.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the Social Justice Team to expand and coordinate CUUC’s social justice initiatives, ensuring integration with the Religious Education Program, the broader congregation, and the North Texas community.
    • Assist the Religious Education Program by gathering materials, communicating with families and teachers, recruiting and supporting RE teachers, and teaching a class.
    • Participate in congregational life, including worship, communications, and community activities that support the overall mission of the church.

    Qualifications & Skills

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, or education preferred (not required).

    Experience

    • Experience with liberal religious faith communities, including working with volunteers and leaders.
    • Project management experience.

    Knowledge

    • Understanding of social justice issues and community organizing.
    • Familiarity with the Unitarian Universalist faith tradition.

    Personal Qualities

    • Strong communication and relational skills.
    • Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
    • Organizational ability with attention to detail.
    • Passion for social justice and community engagement.

    Additional Requirements

    • Must be able to pass a background check.

    Position Details

    • Part-time: 10 hours per week at $20/hour.
    • Work is primarily on-site at CUUC on Wednesday afternoons/evenings and weekends, with some flexibility for off-site work.

    The Nor’kirk Presbyterian in Carrollton Texas is seeking a Part-time Stated Supply Pastor (18 hours/wk)

    • A spiritual leader to assist in planning and overseeing the worship services.
    • A faith leader to help plan and coordinate Christian education and Bible studies.
    • Key worship leader functions during the worship service include the confession, children and congregation sermons, communion, prayers of the people and benediction.
    • Maintain office hours at least one day per week either on Monday or Thursday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
    • Provide pastoral care to a multigenerational congregation.

    • Support Session Committees, as needed, to include attending events. 

    The pastor will lead the congregation in the service of our Lord and Savior and will support outreach, mission efforts, and guide the church to be an integral presence and inspiration in the community by welcoming all of God’s children.

    The pastor will be responsible for assisting in the planning and leading the weekly worship service which includes providing the sermon and children’s moment. Additional services may include funerals and weddings for church members and potentially any extended family as well. The pastor will also function as an organizer, to support the church coordinator, director of music and the pianist (if applicable). 

    This key individual will support church committees by providing guidance or direction and be available for the sick, the grieving, and anyone needing counsel.
