Diane Powell, M.M., MT-BC, has been a board certified music therapist since 2007, with a career largely focused on working with children and adults with disabilities. She earned a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Sam Houston State University in 2007 and a Master of Music from Colorado State University in 2023. For more than a decade, Powell served as a music therapist in Keller Independent School District where she provided district-wide services for students of all ages and abilities, collaborated with interdisciplinary teams and led professional development for educators. Beyond the schools, she has partnered with Casa Mañana, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Amon Carter Museum on their programs for disabled individuals and has a deep passion for continuing the work of making community creative arts programs more accessible.

An active leader in the profession, Powell served as Vice President of the Southwestern Region of the American Music Therapy Association for three years, was hospitality co-chair for the 2018 AMTA National Conference, has given a variety of presentations over various topics related to the field of music therapy and has been recognized with multiple awards for her work.
