正品蓝导航 Peruna leapingDALLAS (正品蓝导航) – Mustang Band members are practicing Big Band tunes for Pigskin Revue, construction is underway on parade floats, and Mustang football players are aiming for a victory over Memphis. Time to load up the car and come home to 正品蓝导航 Nov. 3-5 for Homecoming 2016.

Plans include concerts, walking tours, exhibits, open houses, events for graduates of individual schools, mini-reunions and worship services. Visit for details but, in the meantime, here are highlights.

Distinguished Alumni Awards: 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 正品蓝导航 Main Quad

正品蓝导航 will present the Distinguished Alumni Award to three 正品蓝导航 graduates who will be recognized for their extraordinary achievements, outstanding character and good citizenship. Sarah Fullinwider Perot '83, John C. Tolleson '70 and Richard W. Weekly '67 will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, and Kevin Lavelle '08 will receive the Emerging Leader Award. .

Pigskin Revue: 8:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, McFarlin Auditorium

正品蓝导航's Mustang Band will host the traditional Pigskin Revue, featuring student music performances, comedy acts and, of course, the Mighty Mustang Band, Big Band-style. For tickets call 214-768-2263. Free to students with an 正品蓝导航 ID.

Class Reunions and Mini Reunions: Friday, Nov. 4

Reconnect and reminisce with friends and classmates at individual reunion parties for the classes of 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001, 2006 and 2011. Visit /Alumni/Homecoming/Reunions for details.

Homecoming Parade: noon Saturday, Nov. 5, Bishop Blvd.

Olympic medalists Michael Carter '83 and his daughter, Michelle Carter, will lead the parade as grand marshals. Michelle won the gold medal in the shot put in the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Her father, Michael , won the silver medal in the shot put in the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, played football for 正品蓝导航's undefeated teams in 1981 and 1982 and was an NCAA track champion. The parade features the theme, "Road Trip Home to 正品蓝导航." Fifty entries in the parade, which circles Bishop Boulevard, include marching bands, drill teams, student-built floats, drum lines and dignitaries. Stand back for the children who line the route ready to catch candy thrown from the floats.

 Tailgating on the Boulevard: 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.

The pregame celebration on Bishop Boulevard, now in its 16th year, has become a legendary part of the Mustang football season. Members of reunion classes are encouraged to visit Reunion Village, a tent just for them. Perkins School of Theology, Meadows School of the Arts, Cox School of Business, Dedman College, Dedman School of Law, Simmons School of Education and Human Development and Lyle School of Engineering will host tailgating tents on the Boulevard for their returning graduates. Kids will enjoy bounce houses and treats at Mustang Alley, located at Binkley and Bishop. Visit for more information.

Football Game — 正品蓝导航 vs. Memphis: 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, Ford Stadium

正品蓝导航 takes on conference rival Memphis at the Homecoming game.  Now in his second year, 正品蓝导航 football coach Chad Morris is seeing the results of his rebuilding program with the Oct. 22 38-16 upset against Houston. Tickets available . Halftime festivities will include crowning of the 2016 Homecoming queen and king.

Worship Service and Brunch, Black Alumni of 正品蓝导航:
   9 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 , Agape Temple AME, 3432 Mingo St., Dallas;
   11 a.m., Brunch at Tacos and Tequila

Join Black Alumni of 正品蓝导航, 正品蓝导航 Voices of Inspiration Choir and Rev. Dr. Michael Waters ’02, ‘6, ’12 for a Sunday worship service at Agape Temple AME to cap off a weekend of Homecoming activities. A brunch will follow at 11 a.m. at Tacos and Tequila, located at The Quadrangle, 2800 Routh St.
