This year Founders’ Day Weekend is adding a new performance program, , highlighting faculty, students, staff and alumni.
The event, which is open to the public, begins at 1 p.m. Friday, April 11, in the Greer Garson Theatre in ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½'s . Tickets for alumni and the general public are $15 and available . ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ students, faculty and staff may register for discounted tickets at $5 apiece.
The program features compelling stories and demonstrations from 16 ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ faculty, staff, alumni and student speakers on topics ranging from NSA wiretapping, to civil rights, to a whimsical exercise in giant origami. A break is built into the program, allowing the audience to meet speakers and start the conversations that are the hallmark of the TEDxÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ experience.
The TEDxÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ team is partnering with ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½’s Office of Development and External Affairs to present Inside ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ Powered by TEDxÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ during Founder’s Day Weekend. The afternoon will be hosted by ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ students Ramon Trespalacios and Devin Kerns.
Founder’s Day is an annual celebration of the founding of ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ and the spirit of the University. The cornerstone of the day is Inside ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½, an open house that highlights all the best and brightest ideas across campus.
