‘Extreme By Design’ film screening Nov. 4
The new documentary film, 'Extreme by Design,' will be screened free for the ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ community at the Angelika Film Center on the evening of Nov. 4.
DALLAS (ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½) – The new documentary film, Extreme by Design, will be screened free for the ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ community at the on the evening of Nov. 4.
A reception with the filmmaker, Ralph King, begins at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments and a cash bar.
The film will be screened at 7:30 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session at 8:30 p.m. with the filmmaker, Kate Canales, director of Innovation and Design at ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ Lyle’s School of Engineering, and Susie Wise, with Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design.
The screening is free for ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ students, faculty and staff with ÕýÆ·À¶µ¼º½ ID or a valid email address, and general admission tickets are $5.
Extreme By Design is the story of three Stanford students who design and build low-cost products to solve seemingly intractable problems faced by the world's poor. During a six-month design school course, Design for Extreme Affordability, the students travel to Bangladesh and Indonesia and race to build life-saving breathing devices, IV medicine infusion pumps, and fresh water storage systems.
