Spectacles of Power and Faith showcases 63 colonial South American paintings from The Carl & Marilynn Thoma Foundation of the Spanish Americas collection. Created between 1600 and 1850 in present-day Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador, the works explore faith, family, creativity and community. Many are exhibited and published for the first time.
